In addition to its online digital materials, the programs of the Institute for Tolerance Studies include the Santa Fe Distinguished Lecture Series and the Jewish Learning Channel, both of which feature information on diversity in ethnicity, religion, and lifestyle. The Tolerance Studies Blog adds information and commentary to those programs. The Preamble of the U.S. Constitution gives a starting point for tolerance studies.

The mission of the Institute for Tolerance Studies is to inspire critical thinking and inform people on diversity, social justice, and respect. We support the expression and discussion of ideas and opinions and encourage people to be informed citizens. The Institute for Tolerance Studies is a non-partisan 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization that is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding political activities, such as campaign activities and lobbying. While individuals in Institute for Tolerance Studies activities, including program participants, have the right to express their political opinions, it is very important that they do so only in their individual capacities, and they do not represent the Institute for Tolerance Studies. The Institute for Tolerance Studies expressly disavows any partisan opinions or activities that are not made in accordance with these provisions: such opinions and activities are not authorized and may not be attributed to the Institute for Tolerance Studies.

Ron Duncan Hart, Ph.D. is Director of the Institute for Tolerance Studies and author of the Blog. He is a cultural anthropologist from Indiana University with postdoctoral studies at the University of Oxford. He is a former
Dean of Academic Affairs and award-winning author.
